The stage has been set for the New England Patriots to battle the Philadelphia Eagles. Are you ready for the most important game of the season?
The Tipsy Dancer’s Game Time Collection can help turn your party into a hit. This week I will be covering delicious food and, as always, beer to make your party or tailgate one to remember. Oh, and let’s not forget about the dance moves for the halftime show, here’s looking at you JT!
I’m going to give you all a look at some great recipes and then pair them with a complimentary beer. To keep with the theme, I’ll focus on delicious pairings from the Philadelphia and Boston areas.
A little teaser for the week: An Artichoke Dip that pairs well with Red Lager or Soft Rye Pretzels paired with a British IPA or Vienna Lager.
One beer that naturally comes to mind is, well, anything from Samuel Adams. Samuel Adams Boston Brewing Company makes some of America’s best craft beer, not far from the Patriots’ home in Foxborough, MA. My favorite, the Sam Adams Cold Snap. I liked it so much that I found a recipe that uses it. It’s called “Cold Snap Brined Chicken” and it is fantastic.
Philadelphia, home of the Eagles, has such a rich history that there’s no wonder they have some of the nation’s oldest lagers. One recipe that sounds interesting is the “Belgian Endive with Gruyere and Prosciutto” that pairs great with the Weyerbacher Merry Monks or a Belgian Ale or American Lager. I found this fantastic recipe from Weyerbacher Brewing Company, just north of Philly.
Recipes like these are simple to make and are sure to wow your family and friends. I also have some fun halftime things lined up for you. Stay tuned for a fun week all leading up to the big game.
I’d love to hear from you! What are some of your favorite game day treats? Do you have a prediction for the game? What do you think the first commercial will be?
