Happy New Year! 2020

I swear I will always be late… I meant to write this yesterday but plans change (adaptability is a useful skill) so I figured I’d ring in the New Year with my drinks of choice.

Per tradition, at my house, we kill a bottle of Martini and Rossi Asti Champagne.  It’s really sweet and bubbly and easy to drink.

This year, I stayed home and celebrated with some vodka. I bought a box set of mixers from Target that contained mixes for martinis, mojitos, old fashions, etc.. (Side note, never let me go to Target alone) I figured, why not? It looked fun plus I’m kind of lazy when I drink at home and don’t ever feel like treating myself to cocktails outside of some liquor and diet coke.

I used Kamchatka vodka (I know, I know, but I had it left over). I tried the Cosmopolitan, Apple Martini and the Lemon Drop.

They tasted overprocessed if that’s a thing? The cosmo was definitely the because it was sweet and didn’t have an overly syrupy taste like the Apple Martini. That one was undrinkable. The Lemon Drop was good, but the flavor was very subtle.

The other mixes include Bloody Mary, Old Fashion, Moscow mule, Mojito and Margarita. I’m not super excited about trying them, but I am more curious than I am afraid. I’ll let you know how they go.

So, what was your go-to drink this New Year’s celebration? I’d love to hear about your New Year’s traditions.

And it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make resolutions.

For my resolutions this year, I resolve to drink more beer and post more consistently here.

Happy New Year! And remember to drink responsibly and get an Uber if you’re out celebrating!
