If you know me, you know that I am a huge fan of dance shows. One of my favorites is the new show, World of Dance. I love the concept and last season was phenomenal. Not to mention that the judging panel is adorable and super knowledgeable about the craft.
Eva Igo is back! This girl is on fire. For real! I was crushed when she ended last season in second place. No hate for Les Twins, but I personally felt she wanted it more. But I’m also biased because I am a better contemporary dancer than hip-hop dancer. And don’t even ask me to lock and pop. Lol.
I love that this show incorporates all dance, but there’s a lot of apples and oranges going on. That being said, I love that they incorporate not only the technicality of the pieces but also the emotional appeal. Did it make you feel something?
Tonight’s episode was on fire! I couldn’t have asked for a better season opener.
My recap of the night:
Sean and Kaycee made me cry with their piece! 100 points from me. That choreography was intelligent and it told a story and it gave me chills.
Jaxon Willard’s solo was unbelievable. Every extension was full and every toe was pointed. The emotional journey was heartbreakingly beautiful and the technique was WOW!
Karen and Ricardo, hot damn! That was a super spicy salsa cabaret. That was so intense that I think I got whiplash from watching them. Yes, I agree 100% judges. They are certainly a threat in this competition.
All I know now is that I need Eva Igo and Jaxon Willard to perform a duo! Could you imagine?!
